We all go through times that are tough. We lose our jobs, get in a fight with your best friend, or love in vain. This was an idea I had for the last year. I never got around to painting it, but the last couple days I've been in the mood. Picked up the canvas with the outline and thought, "Oh yah, this idea. I think I'll finish that".
Good streaming effect in this one, the lines going up from bottom center to the top grants the feeling of something burning. The light above the blue puts nore attention to the top but it also adds depth behind it. Like if there something else hidden behind it. If it weren't for the black lines then the blue would have looked out of place but it doesn't. The blue piece looked like a heart at first but all the black cracks made me wonder as it looks like it's dragging you down.
As for the theme itself, i would say that the streams at the side represents life, steadily burning with a flow. The blue is a calm color and looks very balanced on this piece, perhaps it represents one's personal space, sometimes even your personal space is provoked and start to crack by negative feedback and thoughts.
I like how you've imagined the streams at the side as life. Although the blue is calm, I was going for inner death. You know when you go through something that's traumatic and it changes you forever. It seems that your heart doesn't break like this unless you've gone through something that's really really intense. Usually something to do with love.

Yes, even your very inside can get ruined by other ones and yourself combined. It can get repaired by time unless it's critical like you said. I love your concept

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
